A Lighter Shade of Provence

I may have mentioned a time or two (or three or four) that cottage style dressers are my favorite pieces of furniture. They are sweet, simple and work in almost any room. I love the curves. And they are functional, as Karla would say.

This one turned up at a barn sale. All she needed was a light sanding and fresh new color.

I love the color of the Provence chalk paint, but wanted to go a little softer on this piece, so I just mixed in a little Old White. This just might be my favorite color at the moment.

As always, the chalk paint distressed beautifully.

These little keyholes just add a nice touch.

The original knobs were already perfect.

A coat of wax and she was ready to go.

Don't you love the color of Provence with the orange leaves on the ground? I think that is an inspired color combination that is going to show up in my house very soon! ... And yes, that is the last bit of snow on the ground from last weekend's early snowfall. Snow was sliding off the roof and I actually had to shovel the front walk for the trick-or-treaters!

Don't forget to enter our Cutting Edge Stencil giveaway going on now! I love this one. And the gray and yellow color combination is one that Megan is loving right now - so pretty!

Fantastic job on this wonderful chest. This is my style, as well. My home is small, however I have several places I could fit such a piece. I love key holes in furniture. Hugs, Jan

Boy am I glad that Provence was the color I ended up picking to purchase! This is the exact color I'm looking for to paint my freebie cabinet.... I plan on trying out the "mix" on a little stool first and today is the day I'm going to do it!

I love this little dresser.... it is exactly what I am looking for to complete my bedroom redo, too bad I don't live in your neck of the woods :(

What a pretty shade of blue...and I love that you "antiqued" it...something I might do with the pink dresser I just did for my daughter.

Thought I'd say hi...we seem to attend the same link parties...so many inspirational ideas!

Cheers!
