Classic Black Windsor Chairs

Today's project is a pair of classic black Windsor chairs.

I picked this pair up at a yard sale a summer or two ago. Somehow they made it to my basement and I just pretty much ignored them. They are in really great condition and very comfortable. But I already paint a ton of chairs and the thought of more spindles just kind of made me cringe!

Well it's that time of year when I'm trying to wrap up most of my painting projects before winter, so I finally decided their day in the sun had come. And now that I have a paint sprayer, painting spindles is really a piece of cake!

If I'm going to spray, I always try to paint multiple projects in the same color at once.

Over the summer I thrilled to received a HomeRight Finish Max Fine Finish Sprayer . You can read my complete review here. Each time I use it, I'm impressed with how easy this sprayer is to use and with the smooth finish I achieve. I still enjoy the process of hand painting, but this is a great option to have. If you are thinking about a sprayer, definitely check it out!

I considered going with a bright happy color for fun, but ultimately decided on classic black. The color is Broadway from Behr and I always use the paint and primer in one formula.

I have to say, the finish is pretty much flawless!

I finished up with a light distressing and a coat of Minwax Wipe-On Poly in satin.

Pretty, classic and finally done!

I'm a firm believer that things are meant to be used and loved, not stored away somewhere gathering dust, especially if that somewhere is my basement. So hopefully these chairs will soon find their way to a happy new life!

Be Inspired Features and Link Party #93

Happy Tuesday! Welcome back for features and party day!

Elizabeth and Co.

Christmas in October continues around here today as I'll be breaking out the sewing machine to make holiday stockings. Crazy, right? ... Now let's check out some crazy good features and have a party .....

Wendy from Sometimes Twice stepped out her comfort zone by choosing black for this beautiful dresser! Good decision, don't you think!

How stunning is this vintage vanity from Lisa at Create Inspire!

Dee from My Painted Stuff shared a really unique Captain's Desk that she updated with beautiful soft colors and a lovely script graphic!

This beautiful dresser had once been used as an ironing board - eeek! But just look at it now after a little magic from Beth at Make Me Pretty Again!

I think Danielle from Silver Pennies found the perfect candidate in this little table for a Union Jack transformation!

Believe it or not, this rocker started out as a roadside find. Great save from Shabby Gals!

Jane from Urbane Jane shared a tutorial on how to make some really cute etched glass bottles. What a great gift idea!

And not only do these Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins with Toffee Streusel from Simply Suzanne's At Home look amazing, but I must admit to getting totally lost on this lovely blog for a very long time!

It's beginning to look a lot like ...

I know what you're thinking ... please don't say Christmas!

I'm with you, it's really way too early to be thinking about Christmas. I like to enjoy my holidays one at a time. And it's not even Halloween yet!

I don't break out the Christmas decorations at my house until the weekend of Thanksgiving.

But here at Elizabeth & Co., our Holiday Open House is just two weeks away. So this weekend, I went into Christmas mode a little early!

This weekend was all about wreaths, bows and frosty pinecones!

I've been working with the girls at our little house on Main Street and by the end of the week, it should look like Christmas has arrived!

It may be a little crazy, but the beauty of having our holiday sale before Thanksgiving is that we can then close up shop and enjoy the real holiday season with our families with no pressure to paint, craft or sell a single thing!

And that is a beautiful thing!

So for the next two weeks, it's all about Christmas!
And then we rest!!!

Be Inspired Features and Link Party #92

Happy Tuesday! Welcome back for features and party day!

Lots of awesome projects to share this week, so let's get right to it ...

This mellow yellow dresser from Helen at Picked & Painted is just beautiful!

And it's even more amazing when you take a look at the before!
Now that is a great save!

And what would you imagine if you saw this in your neighbor's trash?

Well Kathleen from Between Blue and Yellow had the vision to create this amazing padded storage bench!

What a wonderful cozy spot she created!

Angela from Number Fifty-Three added a little drama to her entry with a beautiful wall stencil!

Korrie from Red Hen Home is a just wiz at furniture building. Don't you just love this rustic console table with a very cool multi-colored shelf!

Amy from Home Sweet Thrifty Home used stripes to gives this little end table a fresh new look!

More stripes and little dipped feet make for really sweet pint size chairs from Cindy at DIY Beautify!

Barbara from Food from the Heart whipped up a yummy batch pumpkin pancakes with ginger spiced syrup. Not only would they make for a hearty breakfast, but I'm thinking breakfast for dinner!

And how cute are these candy corn cupcakes from Emily at My Love for Words! They make me want to throw a Halloween party!
