Be Inspired Features and Link Party #84

Happy Tuesday! Welcome back for features and party day!

Elizabeth and Co.

It was another week of really awesome party links! Here are just a few that caught my eye ...

How cool is this dresser from Lisa at Create Inspire!

Don't miss the vintage sheet music, the beautiful hardware ...

and the gorgeous eggplant color on the inside drawers!

Wouldn't this red and white dining set from Cassie at Primitive & Proper be adorable in a little cottage kitchen!

I love the sophisticated feel of this black desk paired with a chartreuse chair from Angela at Number Fifty-Three!

This pink stenciled dresser from Sayuri at Vintage Breeze is so sweet and girly!

I love this little waterfall accent table from Laurel at The North End Loft in such a soft and pretty color combination!

Angela from Twelve Oaks Manor shared this amazing pallet swing! She had the inspiration and her husband created it!

Megan from Our Pinteresting Family is expecting twin boys in a few months and she thought that a day bed would be more practical in the nursery than a rocker - genius! And her handy husband Rob made it happen. Can't you just picture a big family snuggle!

Shannah from Just Us Four shared a really cute back-to-school photo idea. Love the chalkboard quote bubble and her model is adorable too!

And Staci from Life at Cobble Hill Farm shared a wonderful collection of homemade salad dressings - Mmmm!

Last of the curbside goodness, at least for now ...

I've had two really lucky curbside finds this summer, both thanks to my eagle-eyed friends! These chairs are the last of the curbside goodness, at least for now.

Look familiar? I bet you've seen chairs just like this a million times. They are not my personal style, but they were certainly worth saving!

They got a fresh new look with white homemade chalk paint and a finish coat of wax. I did prime them first because they had that deep red hue that tends to show through easily.

Distressing always brings out the pretty curves, don't you think?

I recovered the seats in a modern floral fabric in shades of brown, gray and white - neutral, but not boring. I took these pictures late in the evening, so they aren't quite showing the fabric at it's best.

I think they make a pretty fine looking foursome!

Can you believe that these chairs were on a pile with this buffet ...

and it's little brother ...

and this fabulous farmhouse table!

That was pretty much the best curbside find ever! Thanks Peggy! Call me, I'm ready for more curbside goodness!!!

You can read about my other curbside finds of the summer here and here!

Be Inspired Features and Link Party #83

Happy Tuesday! Welcome back for features and party day!

Elizabeth and Co.

Last night I was struck by how early it got dark! I bet I'm not the only one who can't believe that summer is almost over. Hope you are savoring every last moment! ... Now let's check out this week's awesome features...

Sarah from Savvy Young Something is clearly a girl who loves color! She shared this beautiful aqua dresser.

And don't you love the way the brass hardware plays with the fresh minty color on this sweet table!

Megan and I were disappointed last Friday when we had to cancel our plans to visit the Sweet Clover barn sale and our friend Cassie. Well Sarah just happens to be a vendor at Sweet Clover and here's a peek at her bright and happy space. I'm looking forward to checking it out in person very soon and hopefully I'll get to meet Sarah too!

Danni from Silo Hill Farm shared this big, beautiful buffet. And guess what, this was her very first furniture painting project!

Doreen from Hymns and Verses recently spotted this lace etched mirror at Anthropologie for $5800 -yikes!

And being a talented and crafty girl, of course she found a way to recreate the look for less, way less!

This stenciled pie crust table from Sue from Uniquely Chic is just darling!

And Shanna from Restoration Redoux finally made time to paint something for her own home. I love the soft colors she chose for her Union Jack coffee table!

This Lemon Zucchini Loaf from Kyra at Caramel Potatoes looks melt-in-your-mouth delicious!

Or if you are more in the mood for fall flavors, Kyra also shared these beautiful Caramel Apple Whoopie Pies  - oh my!

Thanks so much to everyone who linked up and linked back!

Pretty in Pairs

It was a beautiful week for painting, but unfortunately I was off my feet with a pulled muscle. Let me just tell you, it was not much fun. I watched bits and pieces of all kinds of not-so-great movies. Hopefully next week will be much better! ... But in the meantime, here are two pairs of end tables that I completed recently. Nothing too exciting, but I think they look a whole lot prettier than the way they started! ... The first pair went light and bright!

They started out a lovely shade of dark pine, oh-so-popular in the 1970's.

They were among the first pieces that I used to try out my new paint sprayer. You can see the finished bench here and the little accent table here

If you've been anxious to try out a sprayer, but not sure where to start, you really can't go wrong with the Finish Max Fine Finish Sprayer from HomeRight. You can check out the details of my first spray painting experience here.

It's really hard to take pictures and spray paint at the same time, but here are my pieces after priming. I love the idea of working on multiple pieces at once!

This pair went Silky White from Behr.

They got a light distressing and some fresh hardware.

So much better, don't you think?

This second pair started out a very orange shade of brown.

I decided to go dark and moody with Pencil Point from Behr. I like these dark shades of gray with the wood showing through when I distress them.

Fresh hardware makes all the difference.

And you'll just have to believe me that they make a pretty pair. They were already delivered to Main Street when I realized I forgot to take after pictures. These babies are surprisingly heavy, so only one made the trek back out to the porch for a beauty shot!

So there you have it, two pretty pairs with a fresh new look!

Hope you are having an awesome weekend!
I'm just happy to be up and walking again!
