So what's a girl to do while waiting out a hurricane? Well if she's lucky enough to have power for her glue gun, she goes on a little wreath making frenzy!
While other people prepared by stocking up on milk, bread and toilet paper, I made sure I was ready with greens, ribbon, berries, snow and glitter!
For holiday wreaths, I like to start with a pre-made green wreath, but always add wispy pieces of other greenery to make it more interesting.
The fun part is picking out what pieces to hot glue on to the wreath.
I try to coordinate the color of the bow with whatever elements I'm going to add to the wreath. I don't start out with a specific plan, I just add items that coordinate nicely and every wreath ends up a little bit different.
Wired ribbon makes the very best bows.
Too bad I don't have a beach house!
Burlap bows are always fun too!
For a final touch, I lay the wreath on a sheet of poster board, spray with adhesive and give it a light dusting of snow and sometimes a little glitter too. It's only November, but my house is already covered with snow and glitter!
And I just had to make a few sheet music wreaths too!
Pretty, right?
So why did I go on a wreath making frenzy?
Our Elizabeth & Co. Holiday Open House is next weekend!
If you're a local reader, I hope you can join us! Our little house is decorated from top to bottom with vintage holiday goodness!
There will be preview photos later in the week.
Complete details are on the sidebar.
Hmmm, I think I feel a stocking making frenzy coming on next!

Wow! What a great use of time ;) seriously beautiful wreaths! You are talented Sharon!
Fantastic job, Sharon! They are all gorgeous! Can't wait to see them in person and you at the tag sale. Megan
You ALWAYS inspire me with the quality AND quantity of items you are able to make in one sitting!! I would've been thrilled with just one completed wreath! Did you have a tutorial for the music sheet wreath once upon a time? Or is that pesky memory of mine playing her tricks again? Beautiful wreaths, Sharon. As always. Best of luck with your open house. Wish I could attend!
Your wreaths are gorgeous! I'm sure they will sell like hotcakes ;-)

I love the wreaths with the big burlap bows! We really need to change our our holiday wreath this year and this provided the perfect inspiration.
I love all your wreaths!! I would take any of them home with me. What a great way to endure a bad storm. You weren't kidding when you said you had craft stuff and glitter everywhere!!! Thinking good thoughts for you this next week, it will be HUGELY successful!
Sharon,
all of your wreaths are beautiful! You do such pretty work. I've never made a wreath, and if I did it would look awful.

You sure got a lot accomplished and they are all so pretty. I agree that the starfish one is perfectly beachy. The open house is sure to look festive now. Looking forward to seeing the photos.
I love the wreaths with star fish! So unexpected but looks great! I also love those burlap bows - very lush!
I love them all! I need more wall space to hang wreaths...they are my weakness! If you don't mind my asking, where do you find your sheet music? I have looked all over where we live & have not had any luck. That is one that I am dying to make!
Your wreaths are beautiful, Sharon. I especially love the sheet music wreath! Thank you for stopping by my blog today and leaving encouraging words--it was so nice to hear from you, and glad you enjoyed my bookcase and the soup recipe!
These are beautiful! I'm stuck with no school for the rest of the week because of power outages... I'd love to try to make some. Great job!
