If you've been following along, you know all about Karla's garage full of chairs. This one came from a friend. Karla has lots of friends with furniture to spare - lucky girl!
And since Andrew's name is carved on the bottom, this one is affectionately know as Andrew's chair!
And here is Andrew's chair with a fresh new look.
Karla went with black paint and a bold graphic pattern.
She used the old fabric as a template, but overlapped the edges and gave it a more upholstered feel. Several layers of batting make it much more comfortable now.
Wrapping the fabric to create smooth lines around the spindles that connect to the seat was a little tricky, but she worked it out.
I think it looks fabulous!
I bet Andrew wouldn't even recognize his chair now!
Karla has been in a chair painting frenzy ever since I posted the pictures of her garage. So stay tuned, there are still more chairs to come...

Andrew's Chair looks wonderful! I'm so glad you tackled this project. I have an old rocking chair that looks exactly like this chair (well, except it's a rocker...). I was thinking of painting it black and upholstering the seat, but just wasn't sure how it would look. Now I know it'll look great- thanks so much!
Andrew's chair is fantastic. I love the fabric! Cynthia

I think Andrew would be proud. Fab makeover.

It looks amazing in black. I also love the cushion and how it compliments the blackness of it. I never would of thought it would look so good in black.
