If you've seen the pictures of Karla's garage, you know the girl has quite a chair collection!
Since I posted these photos a few weeks ago, Karla has been on a chair painting frenzy!
This set of three came from an estate sale. They had a cute shape and were very sturdy. Karla described them as really ugly. I think they just needed a little love.
The seats were covered with a blue floral fabric that pretty much looked like an old plastic tablecloth.
The blue paint was chippy, but not in a good way.
Karla decided that cream was the way to go for a fresh new look.
Now they are distressed in a soft and pretty way.
And the seats are covered in a fun cream, brown and black floral fabric.
Sooo much better!
Three chairs down! More to come .....

Dear Karla, I'm coming to your garage. I love it. Seriously though, great makeover!
Now they are lovely and ready to be loved!
love the things you redo here.
the chairs look awesome!
I need to redo a chair. I am remaking the cushion. how thick of foam should I use for the cushion? And do you use batting to cover the foam before covering with fabric ? thanks for the help. nannyjsewsweet@gmail.com

Oh so pretty! Love how the distressing shows off the blue underneath. Well done, Karla.
We love that you're recycling something old - and doing it with such style! You really gave the chairs a fresh and modern look. Great use of existing furniture!

They look great. Isn't it funny that you find a set of 3? That has happened to me a couple of times. I finally asked the one gal that was selling THREE and keeping the 4th. She said the 4th one had arms on it...so I suppose that happens quite often. xo Diana
Love the chairs. I was afraid for a minute that the blue with floral seats was the after. Ha ha. Love the new seat covers!
Pretty! Now they are nice and fresh. I love how the blue came through on the destressing too.

Hi: Somehow I missed my chair image that you featured with the other great projects on Tuesday. What a nice surprise it was to stumble upon it! I must have been foggy on Tuesday! Thank you again!
So much prettier now! I love a bit of the blue paint peeking through in the distresses areas. Nice job. Deborah
Beautiful transformation and I think the fabric is perfect. Karla's garage looks like a treasure trove of wonderful stuff! Looks sort of like my garage only I have a bunch of junk. :o) Happy Sunday...Ann
wow that's definitely a chair collection!
There's just something infinitely appealing about chairs ... no matter how many we have waiting in the wings for their turn at a transformation. I have three sets in the shed right now ... shhh, don't tell anyone.
Anyway, the cream paint and new fabric did wonders for these little chairs.
It is amazing what a little TLC can do. I would love it if you came over today to my Sunday Round UP Party @ http://www.arosiesweethome.com/ and shared with us.
Thanks Rose
Much better!! So fresh and pretty. And p.s. to Karla, I'll be tagging along with Allison! :)
What a great transformation!
I've painted chairs blue before white just to get that look. A hint of the right blue, edging the distressing of white painted furniture is so fun. When it is notice it feels like an extra special treat.
