Yard Work In Progress

Well, we survived the first week of demolition for our landscaping project! There were men in trees...

and towering cranes...

and a chipping machine that scared the heck out me!

The lumber has been sent off to the mill. They told me it will mostly be used to make veneer. That made me laugh. I've certainly dealt with my share of veneer!

The remaining trees have all been trimmed. The grass may finally see a few rays of sun now. And I think the tress look lighter and prettier!

And the stumps have been ground to mulch. That was another scary machine! And I have to say, I was in awe of the skill of all the crews who were here this week. This is serious stuff and these guys really knew what they were doing!

And in the midst of it all, the landscapers delivered the first load of rocks for phase two of our project.

Now the fun can really begin!

I mention you in my blog post today. Thanks again. I will be a cupcake queen someday.

Looking forward to seeing the landscape!

It's a huge job but so worth it in the end. We took dozens of trees out of our yard the first few years we lived here. I have grass now! Good luck and can't wait to see the results. Have a great week!

Can't wait to see what all you have in store for your yard! And it IS rather ironic that the wood will become veneer!

The people that cut down trees amaze me. They work so fast and so efficiently. I can't wait to see what you are up to. I love all the big stones!
