Pretty in Pink and Green

I'm not the only furniture painter in this family. This pretty pink and green vanity and chair project comes from Megan. If you follow along, you know that Megan and her husband just moved back to Maryland a few weeks ago. He's a college baseball coach and she's a high school English teacher. That meant that she had a few weeks to spend in the garage painting before heading back to the classroom.

I told Megan she could pick any of the pieces in my inventory to make her own. She picked this little vanity and chair combination. The vanity came from a yard sale. It is sweet and nicely detailed without being too formal or stuffy.

And the chair came from the Goodwill. It just needed a little glue to tighten it up.

And of course the seat was completely redone with new foam, batting and fabric. Megan picked a pretty pink and green stripe.

She decided to give chalk paint a try. The vanity and chair got two coats of Old White and the details were accented with Antibes Green.

I think the green was just enough to relate to the fabric and tie the two pieces together nicely.

What a pretty combination! It's very Megan. She likes things clean and simple. And wouldn't this make a wonderful desk too? Nicely done Megan!

Megan heads back to work tomorrow. It's been such fun having her out in the garage with me. I think she's gotten more work done than I have. She's out there right now finishing up a few projects. I better get out there and enjoy the day!

Hello Sharon...

The vanity and chair are perfectly divine!! I have been hearing quite a bit about chalk paint, so I think I'm going to investigate it. I love the green hardware...my grandmother had a vanity set that color green. The chair works perfectly with the table, and I agree, pink and green are wonderful together.

Blessings for the day,
Marianne
