Copy Me! Mustard Seed Style

Now for the Miss Mustard Seed part of the Copy Me! Challenge.

I have actually had the pleasure of meeting Miss Mustard Seed. It was just a few weeks before I started my blog and she was so positive and encouraging. She was one of my first followers and I was just thrilled!

So for the challenge, I decorated my fireplace in upscale vintage style. And you know Miss Mustard Seed is crafty, so I had a few projects to complete. She actually lives in my neck-of-the-woods so I've seen her creations. She is one busy and talented girl!

Of course you knew this was coming. You can't decorate Miss Mustard Seed style without a sheet music wreath.

You know vintage sheet music is really hard-to-find. I think it all made it's way to Miss Mustard Seed's house!

I never thought I'd be tearing the covers off of books. I love books! But don't they look fabulous? Pottery Barn and Ballard Designs agree!

My mirror only cost $6 at the Goodwill (Yes, Miss Mustard Seed shops there too!) and I knew it would make a pretty good copy of Miss Mustard Seed's Trumeau mirror.

I've been taking notes on her painting techniques for awhile now.

You knew there would have to be a scale!

Old silver.
Ironstone and some glittery letters.

Old photos.

I made a faux grain sack mantel runner just for the occasion. It's amazing what you can do with a drop cloth. I made curtains for an entire house, all 25 windows! Thanks for introducing me to drop cloths Miss Mustard Seed!

Love the mix of textures..

And this silver trophy cup.

How cute are these shoes?

I went on a bit of a chalkboard making frenzy last summer thanks to Miss Mustard Seed.

Make a wish! It might just come true!

Donna might like this lock set. It's a little rusty!

Miss Mustard Seed is a true artist. I just have fun with chalk.

Pitchers and platters and lots of white, oh my!

This little dress isn't actually old, but it's very sweet!

Miss Mustard Seed is exactly the way she comes across in her blog - warm and friendly and genuine. And long before I met her, I was so impressed by how much time she takes in her blog to share information and teach people everything from painting to sewing to how to start your own business. That's just the person she is.
So thank you Miss Mustard Seed. We love your upscale vintage style and thanks for being in my corner right from the beginning! How fitting that this is my 100th post!

I adore your style! Our house is mostly contemporary, but cute little elements like the ones in this post keep finding their way into our living room and guest bedroom. I just can't resist!

There are so many elements in this that I just love and are so "me." You captured a lot of my very favorite things in one vignette. Nice job!

Hi Sharon, I can't believe you got so many of those signature elements into your vignette. It's truly lovely, inspired, and has your personal spin on it. Well done! ~Kim

Great job, Sharon! I've got some empty frames that at least one is going to become a chalkboard. I guess they are the easiest thing to come up with! :) I love your white pieces; I'm trying to be on the look out for more of those myself as they seem to work with a lot of color schemes.
