June Garden Happenings

Happy Tuesday! We're skipping our Be Inspired link party this week to bring you a little garden tour to wrap up the month and we'll be back tomorrow with the July Garden Party. ... Funny how I  always think the summer is just getting started and suddenly it's the 4th of July already! ... So here's a peek at what been growing in June.

We had a record amount of rain this month and it shows.
The vegetable garden is going a little crazy!

Raised beds are amazing, but they are no match for crazy gourds.

These little guys are popping out everywhere!

The carrots and red beets are coming along ...

the green beans are almost ready ...

and we can hardly wait for the first ripe tomato!

We have a variety of hydrangeas and I love that they all seem to bloom at different times. I could tell you that was planned, but I think we just got lucky!

These Twist-n-Shout hydrangeas are a new addition to the garden. They are part of the Endless Summer Collection and bloom all summer long. Three of them were meant for another garden, but the homeowner decided she didn't like lacecap hydrangeas. Well I love them!

And if you have shady areas, you know that hostas are your best friends! They come in so many varieties. I especially love pops of chartreuse in the garden.

And hostas range in size from teeny tiny ...

to really, really large!

In my opinion, the leaves are the real star of the show. I'm actually not all that fond of the flowers and often cut them off early.

The more sun-loving perennials like coneflowers, daisies and phlox are just coming into bloom.

And no garden tour is really complete without saying hello to Bubba.

As you can see, Bubba is always hungry!

But fortunately, we have an excellent little fish feeder!

Oh how beautiful! I know you are enjoying the garden and the little one probably love the goldfish. The old watering can and the other vintage goodies among it are my favorite. I love flowers but I've never been able to grow a thing.
