May Garden Party

Happy May Day!

May Day is a celebration of spring and flowers.
So of course we need a party!

Last year we hosted a monthly garden party from May through September. It was so much fun, we thought we'd do it again! A new party will begin on the first of each month and you are welcome to visit and link up as often as you like. Any garden or outdoor related project is welcome, including ways to bring the beauty of nature indoors and recipes using your garden bounty. Even if your garden space is limited to a pot by the front door, feel free to share!

My passion for gardening started long before I ever painted a piece of furniture. I just love playing in the dirt! As soon as the holidays are over, the seed catalogs start arriving in the mail and I start dreaming. There is just something very hopeful and optimistic about planting a garden.

Even when I don't have time to work in my gardens, I make a point to take a little tour every single day. It's often the first thing I do in the morning and the last thing in the evening.

There is always something new to see, smell, enjoy and appreciate!

The daffodils, tulips and flowering trees are taking center stage here in Maryland right now. But we've had a week of heavy rain, so I know that an explosion of color is right around the corner!

So let's celebrate May Day and get this garden party started!

Elizabeth and Co.

*Link up any outdoor/garden related project you'd like to share - what's growing in your yard or garden, patio gardens, landscaping ideas, outdoor related craft projects, garden furniture and décor, bringing the outdoors in, garden fresh recipes and of course we love pretty porches and patios too!

*A link back would be appreciated, especially if you'd like to be considered for a feature.

*Link up as often as you like throughout the month!

Can't wait to see what's happening in your outdoor world!

I love your garden party, its so inspirational. We still have snowy days so it'll be a couple more weeks before we can safely plant outside. Love your daffodils!

your bulbs are so pretty! I know what you mean about walking through the garden first thing in the morning - me too - peaceful way to begin the day.

What a great idea for a party. I actually had something to link up and now I am motivated to keep the garden in good form.

Happy May Day, Sharon! I'm so happy you're hosting your Garden Party again this year. I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be! :)

For dandelionpicker ... the plant in the first photo is Pulmonaria, a wonderful spreading perennial with tiny pink and blue flowers on the same plant. It starts blooming in early spring and continues throughout the summer. I have it in both heavy shade and light shade and it just keeps getting better and better - one of my favorites!

I too have always loved to garden! I can't wait to see what comes up every season and I can spend hours at a time in a greenhouse. I hate having to modify my plant choices because of the deer that frequent our yard (I really want to plant hostas) but I do what I can.
