More Curbside Goodness ...

Can you imagine these two beauties being put out with the trash?

Last week I showed you this cute little blue accent table that I picked up in my neighborhood the night before bulk trash pickup day.

Okay, so this one needed a little work.

And a little foot repair!

Remember it from this pile? ... See anything else good?

One of our reader's asked if I also got the drawers. Well, I did way better than that. Seriously, there was absolutely nothing wrong with this furniture. It was just a little, well you know, brown!

But now it's absolutely beautiful in creamy white, Megan's color pick!

A light distressing to bring out the details ...

a shelf and a drawer for storage ...

awesome retro hardware ...

and cute little feet!

And just look at this big, beautiful dresser!
I mixed up some homemade chalk paint with Sherwin Williams Antique White (the old formula).

I love the fluting on the sides.

And talk about storage!

The hardware got just enough Rub n Buff in antique gold to make it shine. But I'm always careful not to make it too new looking. The idea is to embrace the vintage charm!

Don't these pulls look like little graduation caps? Sure they do!

Yes, I really love the little feet!

So there you have it, more curbside goodness! Isn't it just amazing what people throw away? ..... Now before you come raiding my neighborhood,  you should know that these finds don't happen all that often. Usually bulk trash consists of smelly mattresses, broken patio furniture and just plain junk. But every once in a while you get lucky. In this case, really lucky! And your heart goes pitter-patter! ... Plus it helps make up for all the furniture that you pay way too much for, but of course can't live without!

Hope you all have a great weekend! Mine includes steamed crabs, barbequed ribs, homemade peach ice cream, a little croquet and my very favorite people! ... And I'll be back to post our August Garden Party! See you later!

I'm sharing with ...

What a find, you are one lucky girl. I wonder why someone would throw that to the curb. By the way you may want to check with bloglovin and see why comments for your blog aren't working through them. I have tried several days and can't leave a comment if I view you blog from bloglovin.

I often see diamonds in the rough like that, but my husband will not stop. I can't lug those things myself. Great job with your vision and execution!

More great finishes! I'm currently working on a dresser I paid too much for (only $30 but on closer inspection shouldn't have wasted my money.) Hopefully I can make it work.

Oh my gosh, Sharon! I want to come drive through your neighborhood the night before trash pick up! : ) What an amazing find and both pieces looked like they were in good condition. Usually there is something {I tend to find small dressers with NO drawers!}. They look gorgeous in their new color.

Thanks for linking up to The Creative Home & Garden hop!

It's not what you find Sharon. It's how you transform these pieces that amaze me. Somehow you select the right colors and finish to restore each one back to its former beauty. Except with a more updated look. I love visiting here when I've got a paint project because it seriously motivates me. Right now I've got to paint a desk and a file cabinet for Michael so this post is perfect inspiration for me. :)

Love what you are doing with the furniture! So is this something you used in your house or did you fix it up for resale? If the later where did you market it?
