Add a little pink!

I love to collect old ornaments.
But did you ever notice how many of them are pink?
Not exactly the easiest color to work with at Christmas.

This is the buffet in my dining room. It's a dresser I found at a barn sale. I searched a long time for the perfect piece. I knew the moment I saw it that this was the one! It holds all my linens and is the ideal size for serving dessert. And the perfect spot for a little pink!

I found that by adding some chartreuse green into the mix, the pink works really well. Chartreuse Santas to the rescue!

Ornaments are gathered in a bowl and scattered on the buffet.

And a little candlelight and mercury glass add a nice glow!

I'll have a fabulous recipe for this later.

Dangling keys started with a wedding.
Now they're a sentimental favorite!

So, are you ready to add a little pink to your holiday?

It looks wonderful. I think PINK must have been a big color choice...maybe it reminded people of softer, gentler times. Yours are beautiful and I love how you have displayed them. Hugs-Diana

The chartreuse Santas are so pretty and sparkly! We've been collecting our share of pink ornaments, too ~ but only because that is what little Maya has to have from the thrift store! :) The buffet is gorgeous, and I can see why you kept it! I'm looking forward to seeing the piece you finished up today!

The pink and green look so pretty together, these would look pretty in my little girls, pink and green bedroom, but they wouldn't last long- might have to wait a couple of years!

Nicely done, Sharon. I love your vintage ornaments! The pink and green are a favorite combination of mine. My study is done in those colors, and I once put up a coordinating tree in there. It was beautiful...but I don't have an open house every year, so I don't take the time to put up that tree too! Gotta stop somewhere.

Is it possible that the pink is just faded red? Maybe that is why there are so many pink vintage Christmas ornaments. In any case, I think you did a wonderful job incorporating them into your decor. It looks great!

Hi Sharon Sweetie...
I found you through Pink Saturday and what a beautiful share. I love, love your buffet. What a beautiful piece and the vignette is SO delightful. I love the mixture of the pinks with the greens. It is eye candy gorgeous.

The old pink Christmas balls looks so pretty in the bowl with the green Christmas Santa's scattered amongst. The light from the candles gives it such a beautiful ambiance. I love it.

I love the little skeleton keys that dangle from the knob. I hope you will post a story about them. You have me curious now.

I also love the glass liquid container. Can't wait for the recipe share.

I am Country Wings in Phoenix, your newest follower. I have so enjoyed my visit. What a wonderful way to bring 2010 to a close, finding a new friend. Please stop by and say hello. I would be thrilled to have you as a follower as well. Love meeting new friends and sharing along the way.
