Happy Tuesday! Welcome back for features and party day!
 

They say the biggest storm of the season is headed our way tomorrow night, so I'm heading out today to buy a few essentials - milk, bread, paint and wreath making supplies! Hey, a girl needs to be prepared right? ... So many awesome features to share again this week, so let's get right to it .....

I love the unexpected color combination of black and salmon on this beautiful spinet desk from Reeves at The Weathered Door. And oh my, that chair is making me swoon just a bit!

This charming little roll top desk from Cindy at Cottage Instincts is sporting a beautiful shade of blue!

Forgetting about winter for a moment, Mary from Orphans With Make Up created a beautiful driftwood finish on this dresser!

While this sofa table from Revived by Delia went soft and beachy in aqua!

Love the fabric that Karen from Redoux used to save this dumpster find bookcase!

And this regal navy blue table from Reposhture Studio needed some serious repair work, but just look at it now!

Cassie from Primitive & Proper shared her fabulous industrial kitchen island. I love the open shelving, the rustic top and how awesome are those stools!

Sharon from Lilikoi Joy shared her glam closet makeover with a gorgeous stenciled wall!

How much fun are these milk crate ottomans from Namely Original!

You've seen all kinds of projects made from drop cloths, but I bet you've never seen a purse! This one is from the very talented Cathy from Vintage, Paint and More.

And don't these Baked Churro Bites from Lou Lou Girls look like good old fashioned comfort food. Just imagine them warm, right out of the oven!

And finally, Barbara from 21 Rosemary Lane set the most beautiful and romantic table for two in the snow. Happy Valentines Day!

Keeping warm and painting through the snow and ice!

Cold, snow and ice are nothing new for our area and it is only February after all.

 

But this winter has been unrelenting. It's been one round of snow after another with prolonged periods of below freezing temperatures. This week alone, we had 6" of snow on Monday, a major ice storm yesterday and looks like another storm is expected over the weekend. I love the beauty of winter, but can we just say enough already!

 

But when a girl feels the need to paint, she just has to get a little creative. So this week I'm painting in my sunroom. It's the one room in my house with a bit of open space and great light.

 

The little chairs were a custom order and I loved it when my client brought a bright and sunny piece of scrapbook paper for inspiration. I could decorate a whole house around that sheet of paper! We went with Fresh Sprout and Lap Pool Blue from Behr. I bought little sample pots and mixed them up with my homemade chalk paint recipe.

 

 

 It's feeling warmer in here already, don't you think!

 

And I have to say it was kind of fun to paint and watch this going on outside around me.

The chairs went so quickly, that I decided to bring in a few more pieces before the ice storm arrived.

 

 The dresser is another custom order for a sweet little girl named Stella. Her mom came by and picked this dresser out of my stash in the garage.

 

 This is a desk and chair I painted for Stella a while back.

 

 I painted the dresser in Sherwin Williams Antique White (not as bright white as it appears), just like the chair. And I can't even believe that the knobs on both pieces are exactly the same. Little cottage style dressers are my favorite pieces to paint and I love the curvy details on this one!

I also broke open a new can of General Finishes Corinth Blue and tried it out on a little accent table. Great color, right? And this paint goes on like butter and levels beautifully, so no brush strokes.

And I had two little chairs left in the garage, so I finished up my little sample pots from the first round of chairs too.

So there you have it, staying warm inside painting in spite of the cold, snow and ice outside!

 

 And to end on a totally cute and adorable note, here's how sweet baby Clare is staying warm this winter!

Furniture is definitely on my mind this week. I really feel the need to paint. Unfortunately, Mother Nature and Punxsutawney Phil seem to have other ideas. Now let's see what you've been up to this week .....

Meet Conor The Sailor Dresser from Silver Pennies. Danielle painted this one for her son. When it was finished,  he jumped up and down on his bed and told her he loved it - the ultimate stamp of approval!

And this is Lola Marie from White Cottage Boutique. Isn't she just stunning in red!

I love the natural wood inlay on this big beautiful buffet from Deborah at Confessions of a Craigslist Junkie!

 Wendy from Sometimes Twice also rocked the combination of paint and stain on this sweet little TV cabinet!

Korrie from Red Hen Home built (yes, built from scratch) this triple printer's console  cabinet as the media center and focal point in her family room!

This banana oatmeal smoothie from Caramel Potatoes sounds delicious and good for you too!

And just in time for Valentine's Day, Laurel from The North End Loft shared this pretty red heart wreath made from a wire coat hanger and a bag of rags. How nifty is that!

Spring Tag Sale Dates

It may still look and feel very much like winter around here, but we're thinking spring! And that can only mean one thing, time for another tag sale.

And I know I've said it before, but it's absolutely true ... the very best part of what we do is the interaction with out customers. And we love hearing from you between sales too. Recently, a sweet friend and customer stopped by to purchase a desk for her daughter. (Yes, we are open by appointment if you are looking for something specific between sales.) Just a few hours later, I received this picture and a report that her daughter is thrilled with her new desk!
 

  

And another customer shared this photo of a centerpiece that she created with a pretty posey jar she purchased from us. And check out her clever idea of putting a battery operated tea light under a vintage glass insulator for some soft lighting!

 

We so appreciate your support and enthusiasm! It really is because of you that we get to share our passion for all things vintage and creative. Can't wait to see you in March!

 

Now this snow better melt soon, so we can get busy painting!
