Be Inspired Features and Link Party #138

Happy Tuesday! Welcome back for features and party day!

Elizabeth and Co.

I'm excited to share this week's beautiful features with you ...

I love the green stripe grain sack fabric on this chair makeover from Darrielle of D.D.'s Cottage and Design!

And the toile fabric on the back is a nice surprise!

How cool is this chicken coop coffee table from Reposhture Studio! And even though you might not have a chicken coop in your stash, Kim's tutorial for adding casters just might inspire you to create a unique coffee table of your own!

Red and white dressers were very popular this week! This one comes from Suzanne at The Painted Drawer.

Mary Beth's Place shared this charmer!

And this antique dresser comes from Jenni at Roots and Wings Furniture Blog!

Titia from Crafty in Canada went with a beautiful shade of royal red!

And red was also the color of choice for this sweet lowboy from Daena at Bad Rabbit Vintage!

Gail from My Repurposed Life combined an antique drawer front with some cool old door knobs to create this awesome coat rack!

I just love the happy little bird fabric on this bench from Celilia of My Thrift Store Addiction!

This 1927 Dutch Colonial in a New England seaside community is my idea of a dream house - vintage, quaint and charming! So I was very excited when Danielle from Finding Silver Pennies shared her fall home tour with us!

And Patti from Old Things New has all the details on how you can whip up a batch of gorgeous velvet pumpkins!

Thanks so much to everyone who linked up and linked back!

A Table and Chair for Madison

I have a fun little project to share with you today.

This was a custom order for a soon-to-be grandmother anxiously awaiting the arrival of Baby Madison!

She was looking for a chair and possibly a little table for Madison's nursery. And luckily I had just the perfect combination!

This was the inspiration photo for Madison's nursery. We decided there was already enough purple in the room, so we pulled out the green and aqua shades.

I mixed up some homemade chalk paint in Behr's Premium Plus Paint in Fresh Sprout and Lap Pool Blue. I did a light distressing and finished with three coats of Minwax Wipe-on Poly.

Don't you just love the curves on this table!

I love quick and easy projects, especially when they are for sweet little babies. Welcome to the world Madison!

Be Inspired Features and Link Party #137

Happy Tuesday! Welcome back for features and party day!

Elizabeth and Co.

I don't think we've ever had a triple feature at the party before, but this week I simply couldn't resist ... Denise from Pink Postcard decided to go a little nontraditional and decorate her fall mantel in shades of green and aqua. I think the result is so fresh and pretty!

And if you need a little orange, just head out to Denise's rustic fall porch and enjoy the view!

And finally, Denise shared this secretary desk and it is simply gorgeous!

Suzanne from The Painted Drawer shared this sophisticated desk in a combination of black and gold!

When you see the before photo, you can really appreciate the work that Darrielle from D.D.'s Cottage and Design put into this rolling cart transformation!

I love the details on this antique dresser from Mary Beth's Place! Be sure to notice the "feet".

I love the warmth that copper brings to this rustic fall centerpiece from Julie at Little Farmstead!

If you love cinnamon as much as I do, you'll want to try these Snickerdoodle Cupcakes with Cinnamon Swirl Frosting from Alexis at Running Away? I'll Help You Pack!

And don't put the cinnamon away just yet, you'll need it for these yummy Dutch Apple Pie - Lette Cookies from Nicola at Pink Recipe Box!

Annies Home shared the perfect fall beverage - apple cider of course. And as you might have guessed, you'll need cinnamon!

Thanks so much to everyone who linked up and linked back!

Easy Canvas Prints Giveaway Winner!

Just popping in today to announce the winner of the Easy Canvas Prints giveaway!

Congratulations to Liberty who left this comment ...

I would choose a picture of my kids outside. If I had time, I would get someone to take a family picture of all 4 of us either in front of our house, or at some other outdoor setting! Eeks-- or maybe I would choose a picture from when we visited Pike's Peak this August!

***Liberty, please email me so I can send you the information needed to receive you canvas!

In case you missed it, you can check out my review of this beautiful canvas that I received!

Thanks so much to Easy Canvas Prints!

Garden Party Wrap-Up

I've loved seeing all the inspiration at our garden parties.
Garden tours are just as much fun as house tours!

Clearly I'm not the only one who enjoys getting outside and playing in the dirt!

We've started the fall clean-up around here. And you know fall is a great time of the year for planting too.

I picked up a few new perennials this week and now we're going to need some new trees. We've had four white pines in our front yard for about 30 years. They were live balled Christmas trees from our early years in this house. Hard to believe they once fit in our living room! They provided shade, pinecones, greens for the holidays and a refuge for the birds. But after 30 years, they had totally outgrown their space. They also sustained quite a bit of damage from ice storms over the years. Taking pictures of our house and yard from different angles really helped put it all in perspective for us. It was time for a change!

The trees obstructed our view of the neighborhood and it was hard to see the house from the street. Can you believe that street light used to shine in Megan's bedroom window when she was a little girl!

I try to save every plant possible. But sometimes the best thing to do is just start with a clean slate. So yesterday the guys came out and in no time at all, the trees were gone!

This little dove had to be relocated, but he's now been happily reunited with his mommy!

I thought I'd feel a little sad, but I love how bright and open the front yard feels now.  Even the light in the house feels completely different - like a breath of fresh air. I can't wait till the sun comes out again to really enjoy the light!

So that's what's been happening in my yard. Any suggestions for new trees that work well in a front yard? Spring blooms, beautiful berries, fall colors, so many choices!

Now let's wrap-up with some features from our September garden party ...

Robin from Happy At Home shared her favorite spot to sit back and relax - a charming gravel patio filled with collected pieces and the most serene and peaceful view! Can't you just imagine the crunch of the gravel underfoot?

Barbara from Twenty One Rosemary Lane  created a beautiful fall tablescape highlighted with apples and sunflowers. This makes me want to throw a fall party!

And Cecilia from My Thrift Store Addiction filled a little red wagon with fall flowers, pumpkins and gourds to create the sweetest fall display!

Thanks so much to everyone who participated in our monthly garden parties from May through September. Let's do it again next year!

Happy Gardening!
