Karla's Chairs

If you've seen the pictures of Karla's garage, you know the girl has quite a chair collection!


Since I posted these photos a few weeks ago, Karla has been on a chair painting frenzy!


This set of three came from an estate sale. They had a cute shape and were very sturdy. Karla described them as really ugly. I think they just needed a little love.


The seats were covered with a blue floral fabric that pretty much looked like an old plastic tablecloth.


The blue paint was chippy, but not in a good way.


Karla decided that cream was the way to go for a fresh new look.




Now they are distressed in a soft and pretty way.


And the seats are covered in a fun cream, brown and black floral fabric.


Sooo much better!

Martha from Leone Design shared this gorgeous red and white chair makeover. The seat is covered with a kitchen towel. I love it!

Check out this great curvy table from Dee at My Painted Stuff. It has a beautiful vintage French graphic that really makes it special!

And these chocolate chip scones are from a family recipe shared by Northern Cottage. They look melt-in-your-mouth delicious!

Green Cottage Bookcase

I'm sharing a little green today, just in time for St.Patrick's Day!


This one appeared in my garage one day. Gosh I love when that happens!



It used to sit in my friend Susan's foyer. It looked cute, but a bookcase just didn't provide the kind of storage her busy family needed. After she picked up a dresser at our fall tag sale, she had her husband drop the bookcase off at my house. One look at those curves and I was smitten!


This was one of those super easy projects - a light sanding, two coats of Behr paint and primer in one (the color is Wasabi Powder), a light distressing just along the edges and a coat of wipe on poly - done!











I love those curves so much that this one is staying at my house - thanks Susan! ... And just so you know, I'd really rather be at home painting than out there hunting for finds. So if anyone wants to drop a little something off in my driveway or sneak it into my garage, I would be totally thrilled!
