Where has everyone gone?

Okay friends, this is a totally random post. First of all, I'm dealing with a really annoying computer related glitch. My Google Reader is empty. I've lost all but a handful of the blogs I follow. And yes it's true, I follow several hundred blogs. You were there yesterday afternoon. Then suddenly last night you were gone - poof! ... Where oh where has everyone gone? ... Has this happened to anyone else? ... Thoughts, suggestions? ... Help!

Well now you know I really can't write a post with no photos, so here's a peek at what's been happening around here the last few days.

I'm craving some robin's egg blue in my life, so I'm making pillows. I've been crushing on this fabric (Waverly Ballard Bouquet in Robin's Egg) for the longest time! And robin's egg blue paint is on the horizon!

Megan picked a really beautiful linen Ikat fabric (Robert Allen Khanjali in Glacier) for new curtains. They are lined and totally awesome! And let me just tell you that crawling around the floor for hours is like a workout with Jillian!

And I'm back to pouring over carpet samples. I'm leaning towards Mohawk SmartStrand. It feels dreamy and is eco-friendly. Anyone have this in your home? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

So there you have it, my totally random thoughts for today!

I sure hope you all find your way back to my Google Reader soon!

Be Inspired Features and Link Party #54

Happy Tuesday! Welcome back for features and party day!

The weather roller coaster continues around here. The last few days have been a mix of snow, sleet, fog and below freezing temperatures. By tomorrow it's going to be in the mid-60's. Then we can expect to be freezing again by the end of the week. It's very confusing! ... And for all of our local friends, I'm meeting the girls for dinner tonight to plan out our tag sale schedule for the year ahead, so stay tuned! ... Now let's check out some of the awesome projects linked up last week...

Becky and Joe from Doodle Bug shared these beautiful Mission Style Rocking Chairs!

I love this antique vanity makeover from Stacy at Embracing Change - such cute fabric and knobs!

Carolyn from Sweet Chaos Home really worked some upholstery magic when she went from this...

to this!

Absolutely gorgeous, right?

Amanda from Dixie Delights made it easy on her husband at Christmas. She knew exactly what she wanted - this beautiful artwork from a very talented family friend.

What her husband soon learned was that it was his job to turn the artwork into a cabinet for their flat screen TV. Amanda's "Honey" did an amazing job and he took over her blog for a day and shared all the details!

I love that The Weathered Door went bold and bright with pink on this unique campaign chest!

Doreen from Hymns and Verses just has a real knack for styling. I'm pretty much smitten with everything she does. I know you'll love her winter mantel as much as I do!

And chalkboards always make me smile. I especially love the red and white stripes on this one from Allison at The Golden Sycamore!

Thanks so much to everyone who linked up and linked back!

Look what I found at Elizabeth & Co.!

We are always so excited to hear from customers who are enjoying something in their homes that we had a hand in creating. And what a treat when they send us photos! Here are a few that have come our way recently....

This first one is especially cool because none of us have ever even met this two-time customer! Elizabeth (yes, that's cool too) supported our local Arts Council this year by purchasing the  Vintage Jewelry Wreath that we created and donated.  It looks so pretty hanging in her foyer!

And what's even better is that Elizabeth also purchased our Vintage Joy Wreath last year and it hangs over her fireplace! We really never know who ends up going home with our wreaths, so this was a sweet surprise. And we were so touched that Elizabeth took the time to send  photos and the sweetest note saying how much she was enjoying our wreaths in her home. Elizabeth lives about an hour away and has promised to make it to a tag sale one day. We can't wait to meet her!

Our friend Emily who blogs over at The Diligent One shared this photo of the Peace Sheet Music Garland that she took home from our Holiday Open House.  I hung the very same garland from my mantel this year and I loved seeing it Emily's lovely home. Her fireplace and built-in bookcases are awesome!

And we love when we get to share in the excitement of young customers just starting out on their own. Sarah is a teacher and just moved into her first home. She has purchased quite a few things at our sales. She recently shared some photos of the Sweet Wrought Iron Dining Set that now resides in her dining room. Even the bowl is from one of our sales. What a bright and happy space. I think it suits Sarah perfectly!

And she's already hosted her first party!

Thanks so much to Elizabeth, Emily and Sarah for sharing with us!
Take my word for it, we're all smiling!

Yellow and White Cottage Dresser

My fascination with the two-toned paint combination continues with this sweet yellow and white cottage dresser.

This one came from a yard sale last summer.

She was a little wobbly and not in perfect condition, but just so darn cute!

I decided to go with my absolute favorite yellow - General Finishes Milk Paint in Buttermilk - on the body of the dresser.

And the drawers are painted with Behr's Paint and Primer in One in Silky White.

I sanded the entire piece. The spots where the veneer was missing were patched with Elmer's Wood Filler. But I did not need to prime with either of these paints - a huge time saver. I finished with a light distressing and a coat of wipe on poly.

I really love this color, but I can never get it to photograph well. You'll just have to take my word for it that it's a soft buttery color - Buttermilk is the perfect name for it!

And the General Finishes Milk Paint comes ready to use in a can - no mixing involved.

I love the curves of this dresser, the open feel at the bottom ...

and of course the wheels.

This one ranks up there as one of my favorites!

And I'm happy to report that she found a happy home ...

in my guest room!

And a funny thing ... this is the room that we used as the inspiration for Megan's bedroom. It's from Sarah's Cottage - Sarah Richardson Design. Not sure if I've mentioned it before, but we love Sarah!

Well I recently came across this photo from that very same room. Yes, that's a yellow and white dresser from Sarah! Totally made me smile!!!

Be Inspired Features and Link Party #53

Happy Tuesday! Welcome back for features and party day!

After an absolutely gorgeous weekend, we are experiencing some extremely cold temperatures this week. The weather changes feel like a bit of a roller coaster ride lately. Sure hope it's warm and cozy where you are! Now for some awesome features from last week's party.....

Martha Leone Design shared this piece aptly named Mammoth Red. Martha used it to practice her glazing and staining techniques. I think she clearly has her technique mastered!

Here's another piece that could easily be considered mammoth. Shanna from Restoration Redoux brought it back to life with some pretty aqua paint and pewter hardware!

Jessica from Dear Emmeline has been working on a kitchen renovation. She took this dark corner...

and turned it into this light and airy spot. Isn't it gorgeous? I love every little detail and that awesome planked wall!

These pretty coral chairs are from Amy at Tattered Princess. Her son called them funky and said he liked the "dingle-berry's" on the pillow. I totally agree!

It will come as no surprise that I love the two-toned look of this teal and white dresser from Megan at Apple House Revival. The stained wood top really sets it off beautifully!

These decadent Chocolate Hazelnut Buttercream Cupcakes from Stephanie at Sweet Boutique are just bite-size, so surely the calories don't count, right? Please don't tell Jillian I said that!

Thanks so much to everyone who linked up and linked back!
