This one appeared in my garage one day. Gosh I love when that happens!

It used to sit in my friend Susan's foyer. It looked cute, but a bookcase just didn't provide the kind of storage her busy family needed. After she picked up a dresser at our fall tag sale, she had her husband drop the bookcase off at my house. One look at those curves and I was smitten!

This was one of those super easy projects - a light sanding, two coats of Behr paint and primer in one (the color is Wasabi Powder), a light distressing just along the edges and a coat of wipe on poly - done!
I love those curves so much that this one is staying at my house - thanks Susan! ... And just so you know, I'd really rather be at home painting than out there hunting for finds. So if anyone wants to drop a little something off in my driveway or sneak it into my garage, I would be totally thrilled!

I want a magic furniture garage!! :) I would keep it too...very pretty.
ReplyDeleteSo so sweet!!! That furniture fairy can drop by my house anytime!
ReplyDeleteHey- Ask them to drop off lunch, too, that way you can kill two birds with one stone! LOVE the curves on that sweet little bookcase. I wouldn't part with it either- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThe furniture fairy is way cooler than the tooth fairy! Love the curves too!
ReplyDeleteThere is something about a petite bookcase. I can't stop picking them up wherever I go. They usually end up gifted to a friend after a coat of paint as everyone needs/wants/can fit a small bookcase. Darling!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little bookcase that looks so refreshed now. It was big garbage week here after a long winter and lots of stuff on the curbside (folks put it out all nicely, usually, in hopes that others will find a reuse for it as recycling is pretty big around here.) We found a cute litte desk that I hope to get started on this week.
ReplyDeleteYou gave that recycled bookcase a lot of character with just a little rehab. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteShe's so pretty...love the cottage green color you chose.
